We created The Majlis Academy because we believe Arabic learning in the early years should be meaningful, joyful and part of children’s everyday lives.
In the UAE, children grow up surrounded by a rich language, culture and heritage. Our mission is to bring that world into the classroom, through stories, play and real experiences, so that every child can see themselves in the language they are learning.
When children see their world in the stories, they belong in the language.
Children learn language through conversation, stories, repetition, movement, play and curiosity. Arabic should not sit at the edge of the day. It should be woven through the child’s experience of the UAE: its people, places, animals, traditions and values.

The Majlis Academy was founded by Mufida Al Digeil and Victoria Hopkin, two educators with a shared passion for early childhood, Arabic language and the power of stories. Together, we set out to create something different: a programme that respects how young children learn, and the cultural and linguistic importance of Arabic in the UAE.
Co-Founder
Victoria brings extensive experience in early years education, curriculum development and teacher training. She is passionate about creating high-quality, play-based learning that builds confidence, communication and a lifelong love of learning.
Co-Founder
Mufida is an Arabic language specialist with deep knowledge of Emirati culture, bilingual education and children’s literature. She brings authenticity, linguistic expertise and a love of storytelling to every part of The Majlis Academy.
